The cottage is open all year round, but Christmas and New Year is an especially popular time for visitors.

Imagine sitting here on Christmas Eve with snow gently settling on the forest and hills just outside. The cosy log burning stoves are ideal for keeping out the cold.

Our Franco-Belge Savoy woodburning stove will keep you warm on the coldest evenings. We also have a Hunter stove which also burns wood and coal.

We supply all the logs and coal you will need, but if you prefer, we also have electric central heating throughout the cottage.

We can pre-heat the cottage to ensure you always have a warm welcome on your arrival.

A snowy winter view looking from the common southeast towards the village of Coreley. There are many footpaths in all directions from the cottage garden gate.

These paths cross the hills, moorland and farmland in the surrounding area of the South Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)

A track from the cottage towards Coreley makes an excellent traffic-free walk after a large Christmas lunch. There are countless footpaths in all directions starting from the cottage gate. Many of the paths cover areas designated as Open Access land.

Looking towards the west, the snow covered meadow behind the cottage looks very different in winter.
